Position Overview:
The Clinical Nurse for Infusion and Injection plays a crucial role in supporting the Infusion and Injection Program within specialized clinics. This position involves delivering patient care in accordance with the standards of practice for infusion therapy in areas such as oncology, autoimmune disorders, and rare conditions. The nurse will operate in outpatient settings or provide care in patients' homes. Effective communication and coordination are essential in delivering high-quality service to patients, their families, and healthcare partners.
Main Functions and Responsibilities:
- Administer medications via intramuscular (IM) and subcutaneous (SC) routes.
- Assist and oversee the administration of intravenous (IV) infusion treatments within the clinic.
- Monitor and document post-infusion and injection care in compliance with established protocols and nursing documentation standards.
- Provide educational support to patients regarding their treatment plans, both individually and in group settings.
- Ensure consistent availability to accommodate appointment scheduling efficiently, allowing for timely access to necessary therapies.
- Collaborate daily with patients, case managers, physicians, and scheduling departments to meet deadlines for appointments and treatment plans.
- Execute administrative responsibilities, including conducting monthly clinical audits and managing supply orders.
- Engage in regular phone consultations and virtual meetings with management to exchange information and uphold professional standards.
- Consult with healthcare providers and industry representatives regarding the education and implementation of specific treatment programs.
- Adhere to nursing care standards as defined by professional organizations, regulatory agencies, and company policies.
- Perform additional related duties as required.
