Zurich Canada Legal Services is seeking an experienced insurance defence lawyer to join our team. As a key member of our in-house department, you will be responsible for handling a wide range of insurance law matters, including personal injury litigation.

This is an exceptional opportunity for those looking to develop their skills and knowledge in a supportive environment. You will work closely with senior legal counsel to manage complex litigation matters and represent Zurich insureds in all phases of defence litigation.

We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual with a strong background in litigation and a passion for delivering exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities"
  • Manage a caseload of insurance law matters, including personal injury litigation, and ensure timely resolution of cases.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to inform case strategy and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and present legal pleadings and documents, and participate in judicial or administrative hearings and trials.
  • Collaborate with claims adjusters to develop case strategies and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients, including proactive communication and timely responses to inquiries.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and participate in ongoing education and training opportunities.
Requirements"
  • Juris Doctor and 1 or more years of experience in the litigation area, including personal injury, products liability, and property damage in the BC Supreme Court, BC Provincial Court, and/or CRT.
  • Member of the Law Society of British Columbia in good standing.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe, as well as LexisNexis or Westlaw.
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry, claims, and the insurance defence litigation legal environment.
