Job Title: Occupational Therapist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic Access CAMH team. As a member of our interprofessional team, you will play a critical role in the coordination and screening of referrals to CAMH outpatient programs and providing client and family support to callers of our public-facing phone line.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain collateral information and conduct phone screens to assess client needs
  • Provide family support and crisis intervention where required
  • Coordinate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Conduct client care work, including providing phone support and navigating the system
  • Liaise with Access CAMH and other CAMH programs, community agencies, and practitioners to coordinate care for clients
  • Contribute to program development and provide support and consultation to information specialists and department secretaries
  • Participate in research activities and collaborate with faculties of occupational therapy on special projects

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy (or a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy plus a Master's degree in OT, Rehab Sciences or a related field)
  • Three (3) years of experience working with individuals experiencing mental health and/or addiction issues
  • Knowledge of DSM V diagnostic criteria, psychotropic medication, psychosocial rehabilitation principles, crisis intervention, case management, and recovery
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
