Executive Chef Job Description

At Jacobs & Company Steakhouse, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, the Executive Chef will be responsible for leading our culinary team and ensuring that our guests receive an exceptional dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Culinary Leadership: Provide culinary guidance and leadership to our kitchen staff, ensuring that our menu offerings are of the highest quality and consistency.
  • Menu Development: Collaborate with our culinary team to develop and implement new menu items and specials, ensuring that they meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee the management of our kitchen inventory, ensuring that we have the necessary ingredients and supplies to meet our menu demands.
  • Staff Training: Provide ongoing training and development to our kitchen staff, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their roles.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure that our menu items meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 2 to 3 years of experience in a senior culinary role
  • Work Setting: Restaurant
  • Ranks of chefs: Executive Chef
  • Responsibilities: Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment, create innovative recipes, instruct and supervise kitchen staff, prepare and cook meals, order supplies, train staff
  • Work Conditions: Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, physically demanding, attention to detail, combination of sitting, standing, walking, extended periods of standing, bending, crouching, kneeling
  • Personal Suitability: Dependable, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, flexible, initiative, organized, reliable, team player
