Otter Co-op is seeking a Full-Time Assistant Manager for our Liquor Store at our Angry Otter Liquor locations.

Role Overview:
The Assistant Manager will collaborate with the Liquor Store Manager to oversee daily operations, ensuring that we deliver high-quality products and services. As a leader, you will foster a positive environment, demonstrate initiative, and drive results. The ideal candidate will excel in building relationships with customers and team members, possessing strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to resolve conflicts effectively.

Support the management of daily store operations in alignment with company policies and expectations Provide leadership to cultivate a motivated and enthusiastic team Manage product orders, maintain an organized warehouse, and ensure proper stock rotation Liaise with suppliers to assist the Store Manager Help create and manage weekly staff schedules to meet operational needs while adhering to budget constraints Review and approve payroll time cards Participate in recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management Conduct periodic inventory checks and review reports for accuracy Ensure compliance with merchandising and program standards Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the store Address customer inquiries and complaints professionally and promptly Uphold Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) standards Embody the Corporate Values of Integrity, Community, and Excellence Perform additional duties as assigned Importance of the Role:

Candidate Profile:
We are looking for individuals with a passion for Customer Service Management who possess: A minimum of 3 years' experience in Retail Guest Service, preferably in the liquor sector Proven experience in leading teams in a retail environment A valid Serving it Right Certificate; WSET 1 or 2 is a plus A strong enthusiasm for the liquor industry and commitment to exceptional customer service Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and effective file management skills Basic math skills and the ability to interpret financial reports Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication abilities Self-motivation and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Effective planning, organization, and time management skills Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities The ability to maintain professional relationships internally and externally A dedication to providing superior customer service Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays This position may require occasional travel to other locations as needed Benefits: Competitive salary Annual bonus program for eligible team members Comprehensive benefits package and employer-matched pension plan for qualifying positions Team discounts on various purchases Co-op Membership with annual dividends on eligible purchases Education Assistance Program Opportunities for professional growth and development within a collaborative team environment
