Are you passionate about providing exceptional nursing care? We are looking for a committed Registered Nurse who is enthusiastic about delivering compassionate care to patients at Northern Health Authority.
Under the supervision of the Unit Manager, the ER/ICU RN is responsible for delivering direct nursing services to patients in Emergency and Critical Care settings, adhering to established protocols and standards.
The ER/ICU RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions to support patients in fulfilling their physical, social, and emotional needs in high-pressure environments.
Nursing practices are aligned with the vision and values of Northern Health, as well as the BCCNM Standards of Nursing Practice and Code of Ethics.
The Registered Nurse will adhere to the policies, procedures, and protocols approved by Northeast Health Services Area and Northern Health Authority.
Work Schedule: Shifts include Days and Nights - 07:30 to 19:30, 19:30 to 07:30, on a rotating basis.
New Compensation:
The updated wage is: $41.42 - $55.91/hour.
Northern Health Authority operates a 50-bed facility that provides comprehensive services including inpatient care, emergency services, respiratory therapy, rehabilitation, surgical procedures, obstetrics & gynecology, laboratory services, medical imaging, and oncology care. The facility serves as the orthopedic and trauma center for northeastern BC, with visiting specialists available in urology, dermatology, and pediatrics.

- Current registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN.
- Valid Level C CPR certification. ACLS and CTAS certifications are required or must be obtained within twelve (12) months of hire.
- At least one year of recent experience in an Emergency Department and/or Critical Care Unit. Two years of recent medical/surgical experience or equivalent is also acceptable.
- Completion of or willingness to enroll in a post-graduate Critical Care or Emergency Department Course.
- Current certification in TNCC and ENPC is advantageous.
- Willingness to complete in-house certification courses as required.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
- Utilize analytical skills to make informed nursing judgments.
- Communicate clearly and effectively in both verbal and written formats.
- Engage positively with colleagues and patients.
- Maintain the physical capability to perform job responsibilities.
- Prioritize and organize patient care using critical thinking skills.
- Operate relevant medical equipment proficiently.
