BIM Coordinator Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled BIM Coordinator to join our team at Diamond and Schmitt Architects Incorporated. As a BIM Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in shaping our project workflows, software adherence, and library content.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead BIM Coordination: Oversee the BIM coordination process across all phases of the project lifecycle, ensuring seamless collaboration between project teams.
  2. Develop BIM Standards: Support the development and implementation of BIM standards, protocols, and workflows, ensuring consistency and efficiency across projects.
  3. Project Content Development: Develop project-specific content (family) libraries, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information for project teams.
  4. Training and Support: Provide training and support to project teams on BIM tools and processes, ensuring they are equipped to work efficiently and effectively.
  5. BIM Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the BIM team to improve DSA's current Revit template, ensuring it meets industry standards and best practices.
  6. Project Model Management: Manage project models to ensure a healthy BIM database, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
  7. Clash Detection and Resolution: Conduct clash detection and conflict resolution, ensuring project teams are aware of potential issues and can take corrective action.
  8. Model Data Extraction: Conduct model data extraction for CoBie and dRofus, ensuring accurate and timely data delivery.
  9. Digital Fabrication: Be an advocate for Digital Fabrication in the studio, working closely with project teams to produce fabrication-ready digital models.
  10. Equipment Operation: Operate and guide teams on the operation of equipment in the Digital Fabrication space, ensuring safe and efficient use.
Qualifications:
  1. Education: Minimum 2-year College diploma or University degree from a recognized architectural program.
  2. Experience: 4 years progressive work experience in an architectural office or equivalent experience.
  3. BIM Software: Proficiency in BIM software, including Revit and Navisworks.
  4. Communication: Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate in working groups of diverse sizes.
  5. Project Management: Multitasking and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Salary Range: $65,000.00 to $85,000.00
