Financial Analysis and Planning Lead

Position Overview: We are in search of a driven and detail-oriented Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager to join our finance department. The ideal candidate will demonstrate robust analytical capabilities, financial expertise, and the ability to deliver strategic insights that enhance business performance. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the FP&A Manager will be instrumental in budgeting, forecasting, KPI reporting, financial assessments, and supporting decision-making initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Construct and sustain financial models to facilitate budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning.
- Oversee the annual budgeting cycle, collaborating closely with department leaders to formulate budgets, monitor expenditures, and analyze discrepancies.
- Assist in crafting board presentations, executive summaries, and other communication materials to convey insights into financial performance and trends.
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including variance analysis and key performance indicators (KPIs), to evaluate business performance and pinpoint areas for enhancement.
- Administer the annual sales commission program, including related calculations and payment instructions to payroll.
- Work alongside cross-functional teams to collect pertinent data and insights for financial analysis and decision-making.
- Conduct ad-hoc financial assessments and scenario modeling to support business initiatives and investment decisions.
- Assess the financial ramifications of business strategies, initiatives, and investments to facilitate informed decision-making by senior management.
- Identify opportunities to refine financial processes, systems, and controls to boost efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory changes that may influence financial performance.
- Supervise a Financial Analyst in their routine responsibilities and effectively delegate components of overall assignments. Support the CFO and senior management team in special projects and initiatives as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, ideally in a corporate finance or strategic planning role within a manufacturing context.
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical techniques.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, financial planning software, and ERP systems; experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central or Navision is advantageous.
- Ability to extract and analyze data from SQL databases and other sources.
- Exceptional communication skills with the capacity to present complex financial information to Senior Leaders clearly and concisely.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with cross-functional teams.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Analytical mindset focused on continuous improvement and driving bottom-line results.
