About the Opportunity

The Clinical Dietitian, as a Medical Nutrition Specialist, plays a crucial role in the interdisciplinary health professional team, directing and being responsible for the nutrition care and education of patients. This position initiates a cost-effective medical nutrition therapy care process, comprised of patient assessment, development of patient-centered, goal-focused care plans, implementation and evaluation of the plan, and ongoing monitoring. The Clinical Dietitian ensures the optimal nutrition status of patients who require hospitalization, enhancing medical management by facilitating improved clinical outcomes such as decreased infection rates, decreased length of stay, and reduced readmission rates.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual with a B.Sc. Major in Nutrition/Dietetics and completion of an approved Dietetic internship. The ideal candidate will be licensed with Nova Scotia College of Dietitians and Nutritionists and eligible for membership with the Dietitians of Canada. Strong client focus, ability to build solid client/practitioner relationships, and demonstrated leadership abilities are essential for this role. The successful candidate will also possess strong communication and conflict resolution skills, as well as the ability to collaborate and work effectively as part of a team.

Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent, full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $32.94 - $43.43. The successful candidate may also be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
