POSITION SUMMARY
The HVAC and Power Equipment Technician is responsible for conducting diagnostics and repairs on equipment efficiently and safely, focusing on minimizing downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts routine and advanced diagnostics and repairs on various equipment; maintains detailed documentation of equipment status before and after rental, including work orders and repair details.
- Ensures all equipment is serviced and repaired to maintain optimal working conditions at job sites.
- Follows all safety protocols as mandated by management, including maintaining company vehicles.
- Performs diagnostics on Power, Pump, HVAC, Load Bank, and Compressor equipment.
- Keeps accurate service records and processes warranty claims.
- Executes preventative maintenance and repairs on assigned Pump & Power equipment.
- Installs flexible gas hoses for propane and natural gas applications, ensuring safe connection checks.
- Documents daily activities, labor logs, and project progress reports.
- Collaborates with Service Managers and Rental Operations to meet equipment rental standards.
- Ensures compliance with brand commitments regarding equipment.
- Handles hazardous materials responsibly and in accordance with company policies.
- Available for on-call emergency service as required.
- Completes additional tasks as assigned by management.
- Utilizes the Wynne system for managing SMFs, warranties, and parts orders.
- Maintains compliance with all Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) requirements.
- Communicates equipment status to customers and assesses the need for replacements.
- Obtains and maintains necessary documentation specific to sites and customers.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in repairing and maintaining Power & HVAC equipment.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of basic refrigeration principles (EPA Certified).
- Familiarity with electrical engines and controllers.
- Understanding of dehumidification equipment operations.
- Knowledge of generators, power distribution, air conditioning, heating, and shoring; understanding of diesel equipment, generators, and air compressors.
- Familiarity with compressed air treatment systems.
- Able to interpret electrical schematics and hydraulic flow diagrams.
- Project management and customer service skills are essential.
- Operational process/system aptitude is required.
- Experience with similar equipment is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Candidates must be capable of bending, squatting, crouching, and lifting up to 25 pounds or more as necessary. The role may involve long periods of driving, loading and unloading heavy equipment, and working in various weather conditions. All duties must adhere to safety policies and guidelines.
