Job Title: Cook

We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at Réseau de santé Vitalité (employés sans congé maladies). As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods for our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine the size of food portions and costs
  • Plan menus and estimate food requirements for their realization
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
  • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
  • Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
  • Order supplies and equipment
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
  • Clean kitchen and work areas
Requirements:
  • Cook Trade Certification
  • Cook Red Seal Certificate
  • Safe Food Handling certificate
  • Food Safety Certificate
  • Vulnerable sector check
  • Criminal record check
Work Environment:

This is a permanent position with 45 hours bi-weekly. The work environment is a cafeteria in a hospital/medical facility or clinic.
