Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team at Purdy Pavilion - UBC Hospital in Vancouver, BC.

As an Occupational Therapy Assistant with VCH, you will work collaboratively with occupational therapists and physiotherapists to provide rehabilitative care to residents in our long-term care facility.

Your Responsibilities
  • Implement established rehabilitation activities within the scope of occupational therapy (OT) and physiotherapy (PT).
  • Assist with daily living skills training and adaptive device utilization to enhance resident independence.
  • Provide functional direction to residents, families, and volunteers.
  • Demonstrate and teach therapeutic exercises and activities.
  • Report observations on resident progress and behaviors to the designated occupational therapist and physiotherapist.
  • Organize and maintain equipment and supplies for OT/PT activities.
Your Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Completion of a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in operating related equipment.
