About the Role

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our Long Term Care team at Purdy Pavilion - UBC Hospital in Vancouver, BC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work under the direction of occupational therapists and physiotherapists to carry out established rehabilitative activities in occupational therapy and physiotherapy scope of practices.
  • Support the team with duties such as receiving assignments, implementing lower risk interventions, demonstrating and teaching activities, adapting devices, and providing functional direction to patients and families.
  • Report relevant observations of patient progress and behaviors.
  • Provide direction to volunteers and maintain equipment and supplies for activities.
Requirements
  • Completion of a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, deal with others effectively, and operate related equipment.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
