Job Title: Community Programs Assistant

Job Summary:

The University of British Columbia is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Community Programs Assistant to join our team. This role will provide administrative and programming support to the First Nations House of Learning (FNHL) Student Engagement and Community Programs portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate events and programming support for FNHL's Student Engagement and Community Programs portfolios, including planning, preparations, and event execution.
  • Provide administrative and programming support to Musqueam and UBC Bridge Through Sport Program staff, including coordinating events, creating posters, and developing surveys.
  • Update social media channels for the FNHL Student Engagement and Community Programs portfolio.
  • Support student meetings and provide communication and follow-up support to first-year students regarding first-year student retention initiatives.
  • Assist in the creation, updating, and distribution of promotional and informational materials for Student Engagement and Community Programs portfolio.
  • Participate in the Student Engagement and Community Programs budget planning process and monitor the program budget to ensure expenses comply with program and UBC financial policies.

Requirements:

  • High School graduation and two-year post-secondary diploma. Bachelor's degree an asset.
  • 4 years related experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively within the UBC community and with external stakeholders.
  • Class 5 BC Drivers License is preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills with MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
