Executive Director of Nurse Practitioner Services

The Executive Director, Nurse Practitioners is a senior leadership role that provides strategic direction and oversight to the Nurse Practitioner (NP) portfolio at Northern Health Authority. This position is responsible for leading the development and implementation of NP practice standards, clinical education models, and quality care initiatives. The Executive Director collaborates with senior leaders and external stakeholders to advance the organization's commitment to Indigenous Cultural Safety and Truth and Reconciliation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide senior leadership and direction to the NP portfolio, integrating practice and operational responsibilities.
- Lead NP strategic planning, including oversight of NP leadership and operational structures.
- Collaborate with executives and senior leaders on strategic planning, quality, and clinical transformation initiatives.
- Liaise with external healthcare and government organizations to advance NP practice and quality care.
Qualifications
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner, plus 10 years of related senior clinical leadership experience.
- Experience in leading professional practice, program management, change management, or strategic initiative development.
- Current registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives as a Nurse Practitioner.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Understanding of provincial legislation, health statutes, and regulations pertaining to patient care and safety.
- Knowledge of current and future healthcare issues impacting the designated portfolio.
- Demonstrated leadership skills promoting a respectful, motivating, and empowering work environment.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to develop effective strategies and ensure goal attainment.
