Job Summary

The Northern Health Authority seeks a highly experienced and skilled Executive Director to lead the Nurse Practitioner portfolio. This senior leadership position requires a strong background in clinical leadership, program management, and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide senior leadership and direction to the Nurse Practitioner portfolio, integrating practice and operational responsibilities.
  • Lead strategic planning for Nurse Practitioners, including ongoing oversight of NP leadership and operational structures.
  • Collaborate with executives and senior leaders on strategic planning, quality, and clinical transformation.
  • Liaise with external healthcare and government organizations to advance the interests of the Nurse Practitioner portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative networks within the organization.
Qualifications
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner, plus ten years of recent related progressively senior clinical leadership experience.
  • Experience in leading professional practice, program management, change management, or strategic initiative development, implementation, and system planning in a large health organization.
  • Current registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Maintains their clinical Nurse Practitioner practice in their area of expertise/interest and must be eligible and maintain active membership as NH medical staff.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Possesses understanding of provincial legislation, health statutes, and regulations pertaining to patient care, safety, and quality.
  • Demonstrated understanding of role in advancing NH's commitment to Indigenous Cultural Safety and initiatives for Truth and Reconciliation.
  • Knowledge of current and future health care issues that impact the designated portfolio.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of structures and leadership roles to support patient-centred frameworks.
  • Negotiates, facilitates, builds consensus, and effectively collaborates to build relationships that promote the achievement of cooperative goals and contribute to an atmosphere of mutual respect.
