Job Summary

Halton Healthcare is seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our 6C Oncology unit. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to patients with oncology diagnoses and other general medicine diagnoses.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and perform various medical procedures as required.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop plans to address patient needs.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Recent acute care medical experience.
  • Advanced RPN and assessment skills, including aseptic technique, N/G insertion, suctioning, and airway maintenance.
  • Medication administration certificate an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the role, including heavy lifting and intensive physical effort.
