About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Community Mental Health Worker at Good Shepherd Centres.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide primary case management and community resources to tenants living at our on-site locations.
  • Assess and plan services to meet the unique needs of each individual.
  • Offer crisis prevention and intervention, as well as supportive counseling.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to our mission values of Hospitality, Responsibility, Availability, Adaptability, Quality, and Dignity.
  • Participate in our Health and Safety programs and procedures to minimize risk to clients, staff, and others.
Requirements
  • A post-secondary education in social or health services.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in mental health and concurrent disorders.
  • A 'recovery orientation' and 'consumer-driven' style of practice is essential.
  • The ability to work independently and think creatively.
  • Proficiency in French and/or other languages is considered an asset.
  • CPR certification or willingness to be certified is required.
  • A commitment to anti-racist and anti-oppressive practice, as well as our mission and values.
  • A demonstrated understanding of workplace health and safety practices and an employee's responsibility under current legislation.
