Reporting directly to the Director of Liability Indemnification, your role will be pivotal in ensuring the precision and coherence of claims management across our various sectors. In this role, you will collaborate with the technical advisors of the Quebec Standards & Rules team, working closely with multiple claims departments to deliver essential technical assistance in the resolution of claims and the interpretation of insurance contracts. Your efforts will be instrumental in fulfilling our commitment to providing outstanding service to our clients.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide inspiring leadership to cultivate a collaborative and effective work environment.
  • Develop a robust talent pipeline through effective career development, performance management, mentoring, and recruitment as necessary.
  • Ensure high levels of employee engagement by consistently monitoring engagement metrics and implementing action plans.
  • Maintain streamlined work processes and uphold service quality.
  • Track, analyze, and manage key performance indicators related to productivity.
  • Prepare and oversee operational budgets.
  • Ensure adherence to standards and regulations in contracts and applicable laws.
  • Guarantee the accuracy, quality, and consistency of information provided by the Standards and Rules team.
  • Assist the team in drafting, revising, and updating Index articles, letters, and forms.
  • Support the team on various projects.
  • Collaborate with underwriting technical teams to ensure alignment with underwriting objectives.
  • Lead various technical committees in partnership with Standards and Rules technical advisors.
  • Participate in the revision of insurance forms (internally and with regulatory bodies).

Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of auto, property, and liability insurance products in both personal and commercial lines.
  • Valid Class 5a Claims Expert license from the Financial Markets Authority (or a commitment to obtain it within a reasonable timeframe).
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the insurance industry, with at least 5 years in commercial insurance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Law and membership in the Quebec Bar (or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience).
  • Exceptional analytical, decision-making, and attention to detail skills.
  • Ability to make decisions and perform under pressure.
  • Positive attitude, adaptability, and ownership of responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational and mentoring skills, along with clear communication abilities.
  • Project management and change management capabilities.
  • Ability to foster trust-based, collaborative relationships.
  • Ability to promote the company's vision and engage team members.
  • Strong teamwork and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience in employee management (an asset).
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is essential for regular interaction with colleagues nationwide.
