Job Summary

Maple Contractors Ltd. is seeking a skilled Plumber Journeyman/Woman to join our team. As a key member of our plumbing crew, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining domestic, commercial, and industrial plumbing fixtures and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and repair plumbing fixtures and systems in various locations, including commercial, industrial, and residential settings.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems.
  • Prepare tenders and quotations for plumbing projects.
  • Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors.
  • Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings.
  • Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment.
  • Schedule personnel, tools, and equipment for plumbing projects.
  • Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
  • Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing.
  • Supervise other workers on plumbing projects.
  • Estimate costs and materials for plumbing projects.
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems.
  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to the required shape and size.
Requirements
  • Aerial lift and aerial work platform Certification.
  • Backflow prevention Certification.
  • Member of the Canadian Solar Industries Association (CanSIA).
  • North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) solar heating installer Certification.
  • Ontario Water Works Association (OWWA).
  • Plumber Trade Certification.
  • Working at heights training.
  • Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) clearance Certificate.
  • Occupational Health and Safety Certificate.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • CPR Certificate.
  • Confined Space Entry Training.
  • Driver's License (Class 3 or D).
  • Well Pump License.
  • Natural Gas License.
  • Liquefied Petroleum Gas License.
  • CADD Course.
  • Plumber Red Seal Certificate.
  • Gas Fitter Red Seal Certificate.
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
