About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Plumber Helper to join our team at ABM Plumbing & Heating Services Inc. As a Plumber Helper, you will play a crucial role in supporting our plumbers in various tasks related to plumbing systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load and Transport Materials: Load, unload, and transport construction materials to and from job sites.
  • Read Blueprints: Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems.
  • Measure and Cut Pipes: Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to the required shape and size.
  • Join Pipes: Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment.
  • Test Pipes: Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
  • Support Plumbers: Assist plumbers in various tasks, including instructing apprentices and preparing tenders and quotations.
Work Environment

As a Plumber Helper, you will work in various locations, including high-rise building construction sites and commercial settings. You will be exposed to confined spaces, wet/damp environments, and physically demanding conditions.

Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding work, handling heavy loads, hand-eye coordination, bending, crouching, kneeling, and a large workload.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, client-focused, team player, and good judgement.
