Job Summary
Plumber required to maintain and repair hospital facilities' heating, water, gas, and drainage systems, ensuring compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations.

Job Description
As a Plumber with the Plant Operations & Maintenance Department, you will be responsible for:

• Inspecting, maintaining, and/or replacing pipes, fittings, and plumbing fixtures to ensure the proper functioning of hospital facilities' systems
• Maintaining and repairing plumbing systems equipment in confined and/or open spaces
• Performing pipefitting and other duties while ensuring proper care in the use of equipment and supplies
• Ensuring quality management responsibilities are met
• Working in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations, reporting hazards, deficiencies, and contraventions in a timely manner
• Performing cross-functional duties as assigned and/or required
• Performing other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned and/or required

Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must:

• Hold a high school diploma or equivalency
• Possess a current Certificate of Qualification as a Plumber with the Ontario College of Trades
• Have a minimum of 6 months related work experience
• Be able to read building plans, blueprints, and plumbing schematic drawings and upgrades
• Have thorough knowledge of plumbing principles, pipe specification codes, and principles of operation application of equipment
• Possess math, drafting, physics, and good analytical skills
• Be able to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high-quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance with UHN standards
• Exercise initiative and good judgment with the ability to multi-task
• Comply with confidentiality requirements under UHN Privacy Policy
• Possess effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Have knowledge of applicable legislative, UHN, and/or departmental policies
• Be client service-oriented, with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions, backgrounds, and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand
• Be able to lift 11kg to 20kg
