Job Summary

The Academic Head, Division of Palliative Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, University of British Columbia, is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the academic and clinical aspects of the Division. The successful candidate will be a renowned expert in pediatric palliative medicine, with a strong track record of academic and research excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the academic and clinical programs of the Division, including the development and implementation of strategic plans and initiatives.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the Division's faculty and staff, including the development of performance goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with other departments and organizations to advance the field of pediatric palliative medicine and improve patient care.
  • Develop and manage budgets and resources to support the Division's programs and initiatives.
  • Represent the Division and the University in various forums and meetings, including national and international conferences and meetings.

Requirements

  • MD or equivalent degree.
  • Royal College certification or equivalent in pediatric palliative medicine.
  • At least 5 years of experience in pediatric palliative medicine, with a strong track record of academic and research excellence.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives.

Working Conditions
