Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Educational Assistant to support students with diverse needs in our elementary and secondary schools. As a member of our team, you will work under the direction of the Principal and classroom teacher to provide individualized support to students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students with special needs in achieving personal, social, academic, and physical development
  • Work with students individually and/or in a group setting to promote learning and inclusion
  • Collaborate with the special education resource teacher and classroom teacher to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Provide physical support to students as needed, including lifting, toileting, and diapering
Requirements
  • Successful completion of a post-secondary Educational Assistant/Support diploma program
  • May also consider other fields related to the development of children and/or special education
  • Minimum 1-year experience working with children with special needs
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility, patience, and a positive attitude towards students
