Emcon Services Inc. is seeking a dedicated Highway Snow Removal Operator to join our team. This role is essential for maintaining safe and accessible roadways during winter conditions.
Qualifications- Education: Completion of secondary school or equivalent experience.
- Experience: A minimum of 1 month to less than 7 months in a related field.
- Cold and potentially hazardous conditions.
- Exposure to noise and wet environments.
- Perform routine checks, lubrication, refueling, and cleaning of snow removal equipment.
- Operate a variety of vehicles and machinery for snow clearing.
- Report any equipment malfunctions to the supervisor promptly.
- AZ class license.
- Class 1/1F/A Licence for semi-trailer trucks.
- Class 3/3F/DF Licence for vehicles with more than 3 axles.
- DZ class license.
- Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.
- Experience with road sweepers, salt trucks, sanding trucks, snow transportation trucks, and snowploughs.
- Must pass a criminal record check.
- Ability to work under pressure and in physically demanding conditions.
- Attention to detail and good hand-eye coordination.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Capable of handling weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
- Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication abilities.
- Flexibility and initiative as a team player.
- Are you available for shift or on-call work?
- Are you legally authorized to work in Canada?
- Do you possess the required certifications?
- Seasonal employment with a work schedule of 40 hours per week.
- Compensation as per collective agreement.
