The Role:

The Mortgage Funding Specialist is tasked with the management of mortgage files from instruction to closing.

  • Verify solicitor entitlement with the law society
  • Ensure all information is accurate and corresponds to the correct lender
  • Prepare and dispatch the necessary instructional package to the solicitor along with relevant documentation
  • Follow up with the solicitor prior to the closing date
  • Notify the solicitor when funds are ready for release
  • Confirm that all conditions are satisfied, documentation is complete, and the file is ready on the closing day
  • Review mortgage documentation from the solicitor to ensure compliance with the terms of the commitment and adherence to regulatory and company policies
  • Collaborate with mortgage accounting to ensure timely release of mortgage funds
  • Address all inquiries within established turnaround times
  • Follow policies and procedures to meet AML and Quality Assurance standards

Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven organizational abilities with a demonstrated capacity to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to maintain composure and focus under pressure
  • Post-secondary education and/or relevant work experience preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office and willingness to learn new technologies/systems
