Position Summary:

We are in search of a meticulous and dedicated Food Safety Quality Assurance Technician. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with food safety and quality protocols, accurately documenting inspection findings, and managing data related to quality assurance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the capacity to swiftly adapt to new processes and software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections of production areas to verify adherence to cleanliness standards and authorize production activities.
  • Collect environmental samples for sanitation assessments to support hygiene enhancement initiatives.
  • Monitor, document, and report sanitation data trends to management and regulatory bodies.
  • Assist the Sanitation Team in evaluating and improving sanitation protocols.
  • Provide guidance to contract sanitation personnel on maintaining food safety practices.
  • Collect samples and assess product quality, communicating findings to the Operations team.
  • Lead and advise production staff on quality control measures, formulation, critical control points, and necessary documentation.
  • Identify deviations from food safety and quality assurance protocols and offer immediate coaching to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate and implement corrective actions for quality-critical issues.
  • Support audit preparations, execution, and follow-up tasks, including documentation and program reviews.
  • Assist Production Supervisors with operational start-up tasks.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required, including oversight of inspection processes and decision-making.
  • Provide support to regulatory inspectors as needed.
  • Carry out other assigned duties to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor of Science or College Diploma in Food Safety/Science, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Preferred 1-3 years of technical experience in a food manufacturing setting.
  • Solid understanding of Pre-requisite Programs, HACCP, CCPs, and GMPs in the food industry.
  • Practical knowledge of sanitation processes, inspections, and audits.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Outstanding organizational and planning skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Able to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Confident and adaptable in working with diverse personalities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent time management skills, capable of handling shifting priorities.
