Position Summary:
The FSQA Technician will play a crucial role in overseeing and validating food safety and quality protocols. This position involves thorough documentation of inspection outcomes and management of production data pertinent to food safety and quality assurance. The ideal candidate will possess a sharp attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the capability to swiftly adapt to new processes and technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections of the production area to ensure compliance with cleanliness standards.
- Collect environmental samples for sanitation analysis to bolster hygiene improvement initiatives.
- Monitor, document, and report sanitation data trends to management and regulatory bodies.
- Assist the Sanitation Team in evaluating and improving sanitation practices.
- Provide guidance to contract sanitation personnel on food safety protocols.
- Collect samples and assess product quality, communicating findings to the Operations team.
- Lead and advise production operators on quality control measures, critical control points, and necessary documentation.
- Identify any deviations from FSQA standards and offer immediate coaching to ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with various teams to investigate and implement corrective actions for quality-critical issues.
- Support audit preparations and follow-up activities, including documentation and training.
- Assist Production Supervisors with start-up tasks and related activities.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required, including inspection oversight and decision-making.
- Provide support to regulatory inspectors as needed.
- Execute other assigned tasks to ensure a safe and compliant workplace.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science or College Diploma in Food Safety/Science, or equivalent experience.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in a food manufacturing setting is preferred.
- Strong understanding of Pre-requisite Programs, HACCP, CCPs, and GMPs.
- Practical knowledge of sanitation processes, inspections, and audits.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and planning abilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Confident and adaptable in diverse workplace interactions.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Exceptional time management skills, capable of handling shifting priorities.
