About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our team at Points West Living Stetler Inc.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional patient care and support to residents in a nursing home/home for the aged setting.
  • Assist with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Accompany patients on outdoor recreational activities and promote physical activity.
  • Take patients' vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
  • Prepare and serve meal trays, and assist with feeding patients.
  • Perform other duties related to patient care and comfort, such as making beds and maintaining patients' rooms.
  • Deliver messages, reports, and specimens between departments.
  • Supervise patients' exercise routines and promote physical activity.
  • Administer suppositories, colonic irrigations, and enemas as required.
  • Collect specimens and maintain accurate records.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients as required.
