Position Title: Human Resources Specialist

Role Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Human Resources Specialist to join our team on a temporary basis to cover for maternity leave. This role will encompass a wide range of HR functions including staffing, leave management, payroll oversight, recruitment, and various HR-related activities. The successful candidate will work standard business hours, with some flexibility required to meet the demands of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Advise and support management on the application of HR policies and operational needs.
  2. Collaborate with operational teams to address employee relations issues, providing investigation and resolution support.
  3. Engage with team members to promote a culture of respect, integrity, and problem-solving.
  4. Offer guidance on employment-related matters.
  5. Facilitate HR processes to ensure ethical and consistent practices.
  6. Develop strategies to maintain positive employee relations and foster a constructive workplace culture.
  7. Assist in the development and implementation of programs and policies that support employee and organizational growth.
  8. Provide counseling and direction to employees, facilitating effective communication and conflict resolution.
  9. Support recruitment initiatives and participate in activities to fill open positions.
  10. Conduct pre-employment screenings and assist with onboarding processes.
  11. Contribute to the performance management process by coaching and providing feedback to supervisors.
  12. Support safety programs and manage processes related to workers' compensation.
  13. Collaborate with HR colleagues to deliver key projects that enhance workplace culture and team performance.
  14. Exemplify the core values of the organization.
  15. Work closely with management to ensure optimal staffing and operational efficiency.
  16. Lead employee communications to keep staff informed about business performance and priorities.
  17. Manage daily HR activities including onboarding, recruitment, and maintaining employee records.
  18. Generate HR reports as needed, covering metrics such as headcount and attendance.
  19. Ensure compliance with local HR policies and procedures.
  20. Oversee employee relations and disciplinary processes.
  21. Play a pivotal role in annual HR processes including performance reviews and compensation planning.
  22. Lead initiatives focused on employee engagement and leadership development.
  23. Perform additional tasks as assigned.
  24. Possess a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  25. Preferably have four to six years of progressive HR experience, with HR certification being advantageous.
  26. Experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
  27. Proficient in MS Office and HRIS systems.
  28. Demonstrate strong problem-solving, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
