Key Outcomes
  • Collaborate with department heads to identify staffing needs.
  • Manage the entire recruitment process, including job postings, sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and making job offers.
  • Coordinate new employee onboarding, including paperwork, orientation, and training.
  • Manage employee information, including new hire procedures, contracts, benefits, leaves, the employee handbook, and HR related matters.
  • Process payroll, deductions, and commissions for all employees, contractors, and consultants.
  • Coordinate payroll changes.
  • Manage employee product purchases and the staff samples program.
  • Manage employee health benefits and other company programs.
  • Process WCB (Workers' Compensation Board) and WSIB (Workplace Safety and Insurance Board) claims and quarterly filings.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and conflict resolution.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture by implementing HR policies and best practices.
  • Coordinate employee offboarding, including paperwork and various related tasks.
  • Conduct exit interviews to gather feedback and insights for continuous improvement.
  • Support performance appraisal processes, including goal setting, evaluations, and feedback.
  • Identify opportunities for employee development and growth.
  • Process monthly reconciliations.
  • Prepare payroll reports for management.
  • Perform ad hoc duties as instructed by the manager.
CompetenciesTo excel in this role, you should possess the following competencies and qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources or Business Administration and Certified Human Resources Professional designation CHRP. Degree is an asset.
  • 2-3 years experience in HR roles, with a deep understanding of HR principles, best practices, and employment laws.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in payroll work.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite,
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
