Job Summary

The Government of Northwest Territories is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Finance and Administration to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic financial guidance and oversight to ensure the effective management of our financial resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the achievement of our organizational goals and objectives.
  • Provide financial guidance and oversight to ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies.
  • Lead and manage a team of financial professionals to ensure the effective delivery of financial services.
  • Develop and manage budgets and financial plans to ensure the efficient use of resources.
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting to support business decision-making.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

A university degree in a related field (Administration, Business, Commerce, Finance) and a recognized professional accounting designation (ie. CGA, CMA, or CA).At least 5 years of directly related work experience, including at least 4 years at a managerial level in a complex organization.Experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting, as well as budgeting and financial management.Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team of financial professionals.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.What We Offer
