Job Title: Director of Financial Management

The Department of Health and Social Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Financial Management to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic financial guidance and oversight to support the delivery of high-quality health and social services to the people of the Northwest Territories.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to ensure the effective management of departmental resources
  • Provide financial analysis and advice to support decision-making at all levels of the organization
  • Lead the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures
  • Manage and oversee the department's financial planning and budgeting processes
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to identify and address financial risks and opportunities
Requirements:
  • University degree in a related field (Administration, Business, Commerce, Finance)
  • Recognized professional accounting designation (CGA, CMA, or CA)
  • At least 5 years of directly related work experience, including at least 4 years at a managerial level in a complex organization
  • Proven experience in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
