Job Title: Senior Finance Analyst

We are Centrica, a leading energy company, and we're looking for a talented Senior Finance Analyst to join our team. As a Senior Finance Analyst, you will play a critical role in providing financial support to our Financial Controller, UK&I and Financial Controller Centrica Business Solutions (CBS), ensuring the highest standards of financial control are applied across UK&I.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide financial accounting, financial controls, financial governance, and financial integrity support within UK&I, including supporting large finance systems implementation and data migration projects.
  2. Develop and maintain financial models, analyze and manipulate large volumes of data to provide insight, and communicate complex matters effectively.
  3. Support the Financial Controller, UK&I and Financial Controller, CBS Services with robust and accurate financial reporting of current and historical performance UK&I Services.
  4. Work with the business teams, facilitating interaction and knowledge transfer where required between the business teams and wider finance teams.
  5. Identify opportunities for simplification, automation, and integration of financial systems and data, and actively engage with internal automation and service management teams to drive efficiency and standardisation.
  6. Support finance system enhancement programs and data migration in the UK as part of the CBS systems strategy.
  7. Develop a deep understanding of key drivers of revenue and costs, cashflow, and risks and opportunities, and be conversant with the translation of commercial issues into financial impacts.
  8. Support Transformation activities through delivery of changes to financial control methodologies, to drive greater understanding, efficiency, and standardisation.
  9. Deputise for Financial Controller, UK&I when required.
Requirements:
  1. Hold an accounting qualification (could be working towards completion or recently qualified).
  2. Previous financial control experience within a large organisation, including experience of month-end close activities and external audit.
  3. Strong working knowledge of IFRS and other related technical accounting standards.
  4. Working knowledge of risk management, financial control, and audit processes.
  5. Ability to pro-actively develop positive and highly effective working relationships.
  6. Motivated by continuous improvement and delivering high-quality outputs with the ability to identify a problem and think through an approach to develop a solution.
  7. Competent user of accounting systems.
  8. Experience of providing commercial analysis and evaluation.
