Senior Pricing & Demand Forecast Analyst

Centrica plc is a prominent energy provider dedicated to delivering sustainable and affordable energy solutions to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). We are seeking a Senior Pricing and Demand Forecast Analyst to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will oversee the procurement of energy, management of hedging positions, and demand forecasting for our gas portfolio. Your responsibilities will include the development, execution, and assessment of operational forecasts to effectively manage hedging strategies and report performance metrics to stakeholders.

You will ensure that the gas portfolio is hedged in accordance with the established governance framework, creating necessary performance metrics for precise margin reporting.

Your expertise in statistical and mathematical modeling will be essential in generating both short-term and long-term gas forecasts. You will engage in the creation of advanced statistical models, manage datasets, and prepare reports for key stakeholders.

Collaboration with Finance and Commercial teams will be crucial as you provide insights and analyses to improve the reporting of our volumetric and financial positions related to hedging and forecasting activities.

You will also coordinate the execution of forecasting projects, ensuring that data requirements are accurately captured and data quality is upheld.

Lastly, you will represent Centrica plc at industry forums, contributing to discussions and sharing insights.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated excellence in numerical, written, and verbal communication skills within an energy forecasting context.
  • Proficient in managing complex numerical data.
  • Strong understanding of commodities markets and energy forecasting methodologies.
  • Familiarity with financial risk management and the associated risks in pricing and hedging.
  • Technical proficiency in SQL, Python, R, SAS, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Excel, and Power BI.
