Job Summary

Nissan Motor is seeking a highly skilled Bilingual Recovery Specialist to join our team in Mississauga, ON. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for maximizing salvage recoveries while minimizing collection costs and losses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess all loss recoveries files to determine optimal course of action for recovery of the account, reviewing account history, prior collection activity, and financial stability of customer and co-signor.
  • Assign accounts to collection agencies, monitoring and managing their activity/progress to ensure prompt results.
  • Assign accounts to legal counsel, providing clear written instructions and required backup documentation, and monitoring progress of file and requesting ongoing updates as required.
  • Administer outsourcing programs/parameters, providing recommendations to management with respect to establishing/modifying parameters to enhance the program, and coordinating with agency to develop process to close accounts and payment reporting.
  • Reporting, developing monthly reports for management that provide performance comparisons for collection agency and internal collections, evaluating results, and submitting recommendations to management.
  • Administer accounts in house, contacting customers to make payment arrangements and initiate follow-up, issuing past due notices/addressing customer complaints promptly and professionally, and commencing legal proceedings in Small Claims Court where deemed appropriate.
  • Identify potential risk areas within NCF and bring to the attention of management, reviewing activity on repossession and skip accounts, and submitting recommendations with respect to deficient items.
Requirements
  • Bilingual English and French required.
  • High school diploma and prior collections experience.
  • Proficiency in Word/Excel/Outlook, and good comfort level adapting to new computer systems required.
  • Must have good analytical skills, have an eye for detail and accuracy, and be able to communicate clearly and effectively.
