Join Vancouver Coastal Health as a Senior Radiologic Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a dedicated Radiological Technologist to enhance the Computed Tomography department at our facility. We encourage qualified candidates to consider this opportunity.

Responsibilities of the Senior Radiological Technologist 3 include:

Conducting specialized CT examinations in line with departmental protocols, ensuring adherence to safe radiation protection measures. Performing tasks such as: processing and fulfilling requisitions, inputting pertinent information into the radiology information system, preparing examination equipment and patients for specific procedures, operating advanced imaging technology, including the processing and storage of acquired data, overseeing patient safety during procedures, and assessing equipment functionality. May be tasked with evening, night, and weekend shifts and may oversee at least one (1) other Radiological Technologist or a total staff of more than two (2) up to and including four (4) FTE.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

Certification from the CAMRT. Completion of an advanced specialty program in Computed Tomography along with a minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience, including supervisory roles, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Completion of an Intravenous Therapy training course as required by site practices. Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

Knowledge & Skills

Proven understanding of the standards of practice and guidelines for Medical Imaging professionals set by the CAMRT and/or other relevant national professional organizations. Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices related to the designated modality. Familiarity with organizational policies, procedures, and standards of care, including safe operational practices with modality equipment. In-depth knowledge of current General Radiography and CT principles and practices within a patient-centered care model. Expertise in safe operational procedures with radiology equipment. Understanding of research methodologies and processes. Proficiency in PACS/Radiology Information Systems, digital imaging, and data archiving and retrieval. Ability to develop procedural protocols and manuals. Strong communication skills (both oral and written) and the ability to effectively interact with clients, families, colleagues, physicians, and external agency staff. Proven supervisory skills. Ability to assist others in resolving conflict issues. Capacity to work independently and collaboratively with others. Skill in planning and prioritizing workload in cooperation with team members. Proficiency in CT techniques and the operation of relevant equipment and supplies. Competence in CPR techniques. Computer literacy with current software applications. Physical capability to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

Preference will be given to candidates with: recent experience (minimum 1 year) in an acute care/trauma center, CT Imaging Certificate, or equivalent education.
