At Providence Health Care, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Radiological Technologist 1 to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.
Job SummaryThe Radiological Technologist 1 is responsible for performing diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, as well as related duties, while observing safe radiation protection practices. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures in accordance with established standards, procedures, and radiation protection practices.
- Operate radiographic and computerized imaging equipment, including processing radiographs and archiving acquired data.
- Prepare patients for examination, explain procedures, and provide instructions as needed.
- Collect and document relevant clinical data, including patient history and clinical information.
- Prepare contrast agents and tray set-ups for procedures, and dispose of items according to hospital policy.
- Monitor patient care and safety, and provide input into quality improvement and risk management procedures.
- Clean and test equipment, perform quality control tests, and maintain supplies.
- Perform a variety of clerical duties, including data entry and patient demographics.
- Participate in departmental orientations, in-service presentations, and quality improvement initiatives.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
- Strong knowledge of safe work procedures with diagnostic radiographic and medical imaging equipment.
- Ability to perform radiographic examinations in compliance with departmental standards.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practice related to designated modality.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare staff.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
