About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Graphic Design Specialist to join our team at AdWave Inc. as a Visual Communications Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for creating high-quality digital artwork using hand lettering techniques, transforming digitized images, and designing and laying out pages for various projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce computerized images and drawings using specialized software and peripherals.
  • Review and implement graphic designer's instructions to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Design and layout pages for various projects, including product packaging, corporate identity, and print advertising.
  • Transform digitized images using retouching systems, graphic palettes, or specialized software.
  • Mount and scan photographs, and make stencil patterns as needed.
  • Arrange for project printing and publication, and perform the layout, page make-up, and placement using conceptual mock-ups provided.
Requirements
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and ability to distinguish between colors.
  • Excellent client focus, dependability, flexibility, judgement, and reliability.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
Work Environment

This is a permanent, full-time position with 35 hours of work per week. The work environment is fast-paced, and the ability to work under pressure is essential. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of graphic design principles and be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Language and Work Conditions

The primary language of work is English, and the ideal candidate will be fluent in English. The work conditions include a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
