Senior EHS Lead Assessor (Mid Senior Level)

Join our team at Environmental Resources Management (ERM), a leading global consultancy focused on sustainability and environmental management. We are seeking an experienced Senior EHS Lead Assessor with a proven background in the industry. This role can be based in various locations across North America, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to our global certification and assurance initiatives.

Job Overview

As a Senior EHS Lead Assessor, you will spearhead projects for ERM's certification services, which include accredited management system audits for ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001, as well as GHG verification and data assurance. You will also engage in assessments across various sectors, including transportation, technology, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and other high-risk industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Assessor/Lead Verifier: Conduct assessments of client operations in accordance with ERM procedures, compile reports, and formulate assessment conclusions.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and support junior assessors in their professional development.
  • Collaboration: Engage with the ERM assessment team, sharing insights and identifying business growth opportunities while assisting in the enhancement of ERM tools and methodologies.
  • Project Coordination: Serve as the primary contact for clients, overseeing project assignments, developing proposals, and ensuring timely delivery of services.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience, including:
    • Leading operational site audits.
    • Development or evaluation of management systems aimed at enhancing EHS performance.
    • Experience in heavy industries such as Oil & Gas or Mining.
    • Ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
    • Proven team leadership capabilities.
    • Strong project management skills with a track record of successful delivery.
    • A degree in a relevant technical or scientific discipline.
    • Exceptional communication skills, capable of building trust across diverse organizational cultures.
    • Adept at identifying root causes, proposing corrective actions, and drafting clear, concise reports.
    • Fluency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills; multilingual abilities are advantageous.
