Position Purpose:

The EHS Manager will serve as the primary EHS contact and subject matter expert for Stericycle Operations, providing guidance and support to ensure compliance with the company's EHS Programs and Policies. This role requires strong EHS engineering principles, including job safety analyses, task-based evaluations, and root cause analysis to prevent or correct unsafe working conditions and regulatory compliance issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the implementation of Safety Programs across districts, ensuring programs are received and locations know how to implement them.
  • Develop and deliver training programs, providing materials and validating on-time delivery to ensure all locations have access to the training calendar.
  • Design and implement Prevention activities and campaigns to support safety efforts or address specific situations.
  • Monitor the implementation of Safety Corrective Actions, ensuring all identified actions are put in place and effective.
  • Track Monthly Safety Inspections and Safety Improvement Committee meetings, identifying any significant issues for follow-up.
  • Perform Quarterly Safety and Permit Compliance Inspections, working with District and Permit Compliance teams to address any issues identified.
  • Provide expertise and support to districts with safety-related questions, training delivery, and safety meetings.
  • Conduct Job Hazard Analyses as required, especially when new equipment or processes are being implemented.
  • Lead the Corporate Fleet Safety and Security teams, monitoring compliance with Corporate policies and programs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Health and Safety related program or equivalent in related work experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in the safety field.
  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) Certification is desirable.
