Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Child Care Worker to join our team at WJS Canada. As a Residential Child Care Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to children and youth in our residential program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, set goals, and evaluate progress of individuals served
  • Teach daily routines and activities to promote social skills
  • Monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of individuals served
  • Provide behavior management counseling and emotional support
  • Communicate and liaison with program, school, family, and community
  • Perform household duties and administer medications as needed
  • Accompany individuals served to appointments and community outings
Requirements
  • Child and Youth Care Degree or Diploma, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two years recent related experience in child and youth care
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and clean driver's abstract
  • Valid CPR/First Aid, WHMIS, and Food Hygiene and Sanitation certificates
  • Non-Violent Physical Crisis Intervention Certificate (NVCI) and/or MANDT and Conflict Resolution Certificate
