About the RoleWe are seeking an HR Generalist to join our dynamic team. As an HR Generalist, you will play a key role in crafting the culture, engagement, and talent strategies for our Sephora stores across Canada. You will provide functional support and direction to stores on all aspects of Human Resources, including retention, employee relations, policy interpretation, health and safety, and performance management.
Key Responsibilities- Implement innovative people strategies related to the employee journey to align with Sephora's strategic retail objectives and improve current processes and practices that lead change.
- Ensure alignment and consistent execution of HR initiatives and support the cascade and roll out of major HR programs.
- Partner with the HR team to provide accurate administrative and communication support for key initiatives and projects.
- Support retail inquiries related to Human Resources, including confirmation of employment requests, address changes, pay statement review/requests, ROEs, and end of year forms.
- Collaborate with the HR team to complete quantitative/qualitative analysis to support key initiatives, including performance management, availability guidelines, employee experience, performance appraisals, career development, employee engagement, health and safety, and turnover.
- Foster Sephora's employee engagement and listening strategies and processes and coordinate activities to drive key projects and big moments to support engagement initiatives.
- Ensure salaried and hourly employees are shining in their annual performance appraisal by ensuring content is cascaded accurately and rolled up in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the Employee Relations team to resolve internal concerns and support with the initial review of inquiries and responses to employees.
- Mentor, train, and direct on the interpretation and execution of policies and processes to make sure we play by the rules and have a positive employee experience.
- Build and lead consistent implementation of the Health and Safety program, including required trainings and monthly Health and Safety joint committee meetings.
- Collaborate with store leaders on workers compensation claims management and return to work programs.
- Great at expressing yourself clearly and creatively in writing, conversation, and presentations.
- 2+ years of administrative HR experience and expertise in providing analytical support and insights.
- Degree/certificate in Human Resources Management.
- Technically savvy and know your way around Microsoft Office, Excel spreadsheets, databases, and data manipulation.
- Working knowledge of provincial labour laws and practices while providing regional support within the Sephora retail environment.
- Adaptable, thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and relish in working collaboratively with cross-functional groups.
- Eye for detail and have mastered maintaining a high level of integrity in handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Game for travel visiting the Sephora stores on a regular basis.
