About the Role

The Assistant Store Manager is a key member of the store leadership team, responsible for driving sales and operational excellence in a fast-paced retail environment. As a sales and operations leader, you will be accountable for achieving sales and margin goals while delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring a safe and clean store environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive Sales and Revenue Growth: Develop and execute strategies to increase sales and revenue, including Installed Sales, Special Order Sales, and Pro Sales.
  • Manage Inventory and Merchandising: Oversee inventory management, merchandising, and sales activities in departments such as Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Millwork, Home Décor, and Paint.
  • Lead a High-Performing Sales Team: Ensure a professional sales staff is in place at all times to drive and achieve business goals, and provide coaching and feedback to sales specialists.
  • Teach and Demonstrate Sales and Service Model: Train and demonstrate effective use of RONA's selling and service model to sales staff.
  • Model SMART Customer Service: Demonstrate behaviors that deliver SMART customer service, maintain an in-stock position, and keep the store clean and safe for customers.
  • Identify Gaps and Opportunities: Analyze reports, observe sales interactions, and gather feedback to identify gaps in execution and sales opportunities.
  • Drive Accountability and Results: Work with leadership peers and staff to ensure everyone plays their part in managing the daily sales pipeline and driving sales and margin performance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Related Field: A degree in a related field, such as business or marketing.
  • 3+ Years of Retail Experience: 3+ years of experience leading associates in a retail environment, with a proven track record of driving sales and operational excellence.
  • Leadership Experience: 1+ year of experience leading a performing sales team with direct reporting responsibility in retail, business-to-business, outside sales, or consumer service industry.
  • Product Knowledge: Knowledge of product categories, such as flooring, cabinets, and appliances.
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
