Job Summary

The Technical Service Manager at FMC Corporation is responsible for providing technical support to customers in the agricultural industry. This role requires strong technical knowledge of commercial and new chemistries, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain strong technical knowledge of commercial and new chemistries
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers and influencers in the industry
  • Develop and execute support activities aligned with key initiatives
  • Work with Product Development teammates to ensure testing programs are aligned with market trends
  • Manage technical expense and service to sales dollars
  • Provide technical product training and guidance on complaint handling
  • Develop and implement influence plans aligned with regional sales and marketing objectives
  • Develop training modules and lead technical consulting and training to internal and external groups
  • Provide necessary proof of validation for label updates or amendments
  • Produce sales tools such as newsletters and recommendation sheets
  • Review and approve technical, sales, marketing, and advertising communications

Requirements

  • BS in Agricultural Science or related field, plus 3 years' experience in technical support and sales
  • MSc in Agricultural Science or related field, plus 1 year experience in technical support and development of agricultural products
  • Certified Crop Advisor or equivalent certification required or willingness to obtain within the first 12 months of employment

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years experience in technical support, sales, and agronomy services
  • Excellent speaking, writing, and computer skills
  • Ability to design protocols and research projects that demonstrate the features and benefits of agronomy inputs
  • Proven ability to transfer technically complex information to an audience with more limited technical expertise
  • Ability to build and sustain strong business relationships with customers and teammates
