About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Plastering Apprentice to join our team at Van Horne Construction Limited. As a Plastering Apprentice, you will be responsible for assisting our experienced plasterers in completing various plastering tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints
  • Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for plastering
  • Cure freshly plastered surfaces to ensure a smooth finish
  • Finish corners and angles, and create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required
  • Mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency
  • Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim
  • Spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings
  • Trowel or spray coats of stucco over exteriors of buildings to form weatherproof surfaces
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages
Work Environment

As a Plastering Apprentice, you will be working in a fast-paced commercial, industrial, and residential construction environment. You will be exposed to various work site conditions, including heights, dust, noise, and outdoors.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work at heights and in a physically demanding environment
  • Flexibility and reliability to meet tight deadlines
  • Team player with good communication skills
