About the Role

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Healthcare Support Worker to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support in a variety of settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, to promote patient comfort and dignity.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, enhancing their overall well-being.
  • Assist with meal preparation and serving, ensuring patients receive nutritious food and hydration.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties, maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients.
  • Transport patients safely and efficiently between care facilities, using wheelchairs or stretchers as needed.
  • Respond to patient call signals, providing timely assistance and support.
Requirements
  • College diploma or equivalent in a related field, such as healthcare or social services.
  • Health Care Aide Certificate, or willingness to obtain.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that require standing, walking, and lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
