About the Role

CBC/Radio-Canada is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Governance Specialist to join our Finance Data Governance Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing data management strategies across finance and procurement functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategy: Develop and refine data governance frameworks and policies tailored to finance and procurement functions.
  • Data Quality: Manage the profiling and analysis of data quality issues within specified data domains and business functions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate collaboration and communication between data governance pods, data owners, and other stakeholders across the Corporation.
  • Project Management: Prioritize and assign remediation tasks based on business impact and data quality assessments.
Requirements
  • Strong background in finance and especially procurement functions.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in data governance or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of data quality tools, data management processes, and best practices.
  • Proven experience in leading data governance initiatives and mentoring teams in complex organizational settings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Desirable Skills
  • Deep experience in finance and procurement data management.
  • Experience with E-Procurement - ERP in Data Management.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation and standards affecting data privacy and governance.
  • It's an asset if you have a Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) designation or other Certifications in data governance or quality management.
