Position Overview

The Sous-Chef plays a crucial role in the culinary operations at Anejo Restaurant. This position involves overseeing kitchen staff and ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and presentation.

Educational Requirements
  • Completion of secondary school or equivalent experience is required.
Work Environment
  • Fast-paced and dynamic kitchen atmosphere.
  • Exposure to noise, odours, and heat is common.
Responsibilities
  • Guide and mentor kitchen staff in new cooking techniques and equipment usage.
  • Oversee the activities of chefs, cooks, and kitchen personnel.
  • Instruct culinary team in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of dishes.
  • Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty items for events.
  • Regularly prepare meals for guests and special functions.
  • Manage food requisition and kitchen supply inventory.
  • Coordinate equipment purchases and maintenance.
  • Ensure safe food preparation for customers with dietary restrictions.
  • Train kitchen staff in food preparation and handling practices.
Supervisory Duties
  • Lead and manage working groups within the kitchen.
Physical and Work Conditions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
  • Must meet tight deadlines and handle physically demanding tasks.
