Key Responsibilities
  • Talent Acquisition and Recruitment
    • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent
    • Source and interview candidates, coordinate schedules with hiring managers, and conduct background checks
    • Administer internal job posting program and prepare job postings, job descriptions, and offer letters
  • Employee Onboarding and Experience
    • Conduct new employee orientation training and documentation
    • Prepare new hire packages, collect employment data, and provide payroll information
    • Maintain employee information and coordinate training and development activities
  • Employee Relations and Support
    • Manage support requirements for employee leave programs, including statutory, worker's compensation, and disability leave cases
    • Assist in the implementation of health and safety policies, procedures, and training programs
    • Active participation in Employment Relations matters and involvement in Performance Management processes and procedures
  • HR Administration and Reporting
    • Prepare periodic HR management reports, including recruitment, turnover, employee count, and health and safety metrics
    • Update training matrices and HR databases on an ongoing basis
    • Develop, create, and maintain HR templates and forms
  • Communication and Customer Service
    • Respond to employment requests by employees and external inquiries
    • Provide excellent customer service and communication skills to interface with staff diplomatically and in a professional manner
Requirements
  • 5-7 years of HR generalist experience
  • Completion of relevant post-secondary Human Resource program
  • CHRP, CHRL certification
  • General HR knowledge of Employee Relations, Training and Development, Performance Management, Recruitment and Selection, Employment related legislation, work permits, etc.
  • Knowledge of OHSA – Occupational Health and Safety Act and WSIB filings and procedures
  • Ability to implement and enforce company HR policies and procedures
  • Excellent oral and written skills, interpersonal skills, and customer service skills
  • Organizational skills, time management, information gathering, problem-solving skills, and ability to work well with others
